Leaving Dublin, Ireland where he was born and raised until the age of 22, David got drunk on travel and never quite hit sobriety of it. He has lived and worked in twelve countries and visited over seventy. His shows draw on his wide travels, cultural observations, attempts at language study, (occasional) international drinking session(s) and being a mildly confused immigrant. His brand new show Taking Tangents promised to do just that :)
David is the winner of the prestigious annual San Francisco Comedy Competition, (previous finalists include Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres and Dana Carvey) and runner-up in the Moth’s largest US Grandslam storytelling competition. Also a bestselling writer, David recorded his debut special for Dry Bar Comedy in 2019, his follow ups Cultural Appreciation in 2023 and Shelf Help in 2025, and has been featured on TED.com, Sirius XM, Just For Laughs, Netflix if a Joke Fest, The Late Late Show, The Irish Independent, Inc, NPR, and the Huffington Post among others. A festival favorite, David's videos have also gone viral many times over with over 800 million views and a social following of over 2 million people.

Op zondag 4 oktober 2026 leest Diane Broeckhoven voor tijdens een muzikale voorstelling op basis van haar boek ‘Naspel, een leven in letters’, verrassend op de piano begeleid door Christophe de Wit.
Geïnspireerd op Huis clos van Jean-Paul Sartre
Vier vrouwen zitten opgesloten in een artificiële ruimte waar niets is wat het lijkt. Hun grootste straf is niet de ruimte, maar elkaar.
Wat begint als een zoektocht naar verklaringen, ontaardt in een beklemmend spel van confrontatie, manipulatie en mislukte pogingen tot verbinding. Terwijl hun maskers langzaam afbrokkelen, worden ze steeds genadelozer met zichzelf en elkaar geconfronteerd.
De ruimte lijkt hun spanningen te versterken en dwingt hen één vraag onder ogen te zien: Waarom zijn wij hier? Maar misschien is de echte vraag niet waarom ze hier zijn, maar of ze ooit kunnen ontsnappen aan de blik van de ander.
MET GESLOTEN DEUREN is een volledig eigen creatie van Dave Wiggers en Hanneke van de Kerkhof, ontwikkeld in nauwe samenwerking met de actrices. De voorstelling is een eigentijdse interpretatie van Sartres Huis clos, waarin de ander tegelijk spiegel, grens en gevangenis wordt.
